Main Purpose of Job

Provide leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining high quality technology integration into teaching and learning throughout all educational settings to support teachers in enhancing instruction, improve student performance, and assist teacher and students in becoming technologically savvy.

POSITION DUTIES

Effectively use and provide support for current technology: Interactive white boards, Apple Products, desktops, Chromebooks, Apex learning, Google apps, along with district adopted curriculum.   Coordinate with teachers, coordinators, guidance counselors, and Field Directors’ in the use of various technology resources.  Research and explore use of new technologies, web-based, other instructional technology resources, and apps that can be integrated into instruction.  Regularly integrate technology into lessons for students.  Provide and support pilot classrooms in developing model classrooms for blended and one to one learning experiences.  Facilitate or conduct technology focused professional learning for schools and JSES staff.  Train licensed and classified staff in use of appropriate technology resources.  Create a quarterly instructional technology newsletter to convey updates, tips and other newsworthy highlights to teachers. Provide classroom management tips to use when utilizing technology within lessons. Ensure guidelines and procedures are in place and followed regarding student technology policies and staff technology policies.    Provide classroom management tips to use when utilizing technology within lessons. Asset management of all technology devices through inventory control, checking in and checking out procedures for repairs, staff leaving, and new hire staff as well as staff resigning.  Other duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year of experience evaluating, implementing and maintaining personal computer hardware and software.

Note:

1.  Experience responding to and resolving help desk calls from users of computers, or operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, data base or other applications may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Cyber and Information Systems classifications or Cyber and Information Systems specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet the selective qualification(s) to be considered. Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

Six  (6) months experience with the functions and operations of iPad (MAC OS X system) and Chromebooks

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

  • Strong knowledge of the functions and operations of Mac OS X system and new operating systems 
  • Strong knowledge of the functions and operations of the Google Suite (Google Certification) 
  • Ability to interpret, apply, and train information from device and system manuals 
  • Experience working with/managing iPad and/or Chromebooks in an educational setting
  • Experience developing and providing professional development for application of products in the classroom
