Main Purpose of Job
This position will provide a safe and secure environment for the SGHC employees, patients, visitors, and vendors and the prevention of elopements. This is a full performance level position duties will be performed under the supervision of a higher level Security Officer, Police Officer, RN Supervisor or other designee and/or Police Chief at times. Security Officers assigned to work on the patient's units will comply with SGHC policies and procedures as required. Security Officers are required to complete all administrative assignments and reports prior to the end of their shift, to include but not limited to incident reports, witness statements etc. The Security Officer will cooperate with all departments and employees participating in any and all patient abuse allegations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Ability to read and write.
Experience: Two years of experience in building security work.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Master-At-Arms classifications or law enforcement specialty codes in the site security field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Employees in this classification are subject to call 24 hours a day and, therefore, will be required to provide the employer with a telephone number where they can be reached.
2. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 06.01.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
