Introduction
The Department of Labor, Licensing,& Regulation, Division of Workforce Development and Adult Learning is currently recruiting for Job Service Specialist III Reemployment Opportunity Workshop Facilitators and Business Resource Representatives for the local American Job Centers throughout Maryland. This is a state-wide recruitment and the resulting eligible list will be used to fill current and future vacancies throughout the state. The list will be valid for one year. **DWDAL is currently hiring for 2 types of positions - Reemployment Opportunity Workshops(ROW) & Business Resources Representative** Please indicated which type of position you are applying for on your application.
Reemployment Opportunity Workshops(ROW) for profiled claimants and other qualified job seekers to enhance job skills and to lesson the duration of unemployment. Additionally, provide the highest quality employment and training services that will support the economic stability of the labor force, businesses and the community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years of experience in the field of workforce development involving conducting interviews with persons seeking employment and providing assistance to employers needing qualified personnel to fill vacancies.
Notes:
1. Additional experience in workforce development taking job orders from employers, conducting job-ready interviews, registering job applicants, verifying job referrals, conducting vocational placements, performing unemployment adjudications, or appraising job applicants for employability may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Education at an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience at the rate of thirty credit hours for each year of experience for up to two years of experience.
3. Active duty military recruiting experience or career counseling experience may be substituted on a year-by-year bases for the required education or experience.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
Reemployment Opportunity Workshop Facilitators - At least one years experience developing and facilitating presentations to large groups on workforce and/or business development topics.
Business Resource Representatives - At least one years of sales or business outreach experience with at least one(1) year experience analyzing and interpreting labor market data.

BENEFITS
Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
