Main Purpose of Job

This position will function as an Environmental Services Supervisor and will be responsible for overseeing the department with respect to Housekeeping, Building Services, Linen Services, and State Property Inventory, in accordance with standards set forth by the Joint Commission, Office of Health Care Quality.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Eight years of experience in a large scale housekeeping operation at a school, hospital or other institution; four years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional supervisory level experience on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a non-commissioned officer in Equipment, Facilities, and Services classifications or Equipment, Facilities, and Services specialty codes in the Equipment, Facilities, and Services Group field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education, four years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification may be required to work on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays. Employees required to work on those days will receive compensatory time off.
