Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Provides backup support to other DMIL maintenance staff.
Maintains and repairs structures/ buildings/ facilities/ roads and grounds.
Troubleshoots all infrastructure systems to determine faults.
Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on all HVAC systems.
Repairs/ replaces faulty indoor & outdoor plumbing fixtures.
Repairs/ replaces faulty lighting, lighting fixtures and ballasts.
Maintains, repairs, & troubleshoots kitchen equipment such as kitchen appliances.
Prepares requests for supplemental contracted services or repairs.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of eighth grade.
Experience: Five years experience in the building maintenence or building construction trades including four years of responsibility for assigning, reviewing and approving the work of other building maintenance or building construction workers.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher, as a non-commissioned officer in utilities classifications or mechanical maintenance management specialty codes in utility systems repair, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Candidates for positions in the licensed option must possess and maintain a current Maryland First Grade Stationary Engineer License from the Board of Examining Engineers and must list the license number and date on the application.
2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
