Main Purpose of Job

This position is a full performance level of work providing lead paraprofessional services to WIC clients and staff. This position serves a county-wide area, providing oversight to daily clinical operations and monitoring eligibility, health and nutritional information, and referral services provided to WIC clients, providing policy and technical support to lower level WIC Services Associates as needed. This position will also serve as the Outreach Coordinator and Inventory Lead for the Washington County WIC Local Agency.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience in health or human service delivery, performing tasks such as program eligibility determination, health screening, client referral services, or nutrition education, including one year providing such services to WIC clients.

Note: 1. Completion of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the experience requirement.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Health Services classifications or Health Services and specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. 

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred candidate should have experience with computers.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
