POSITION DUTIES

The main purpose of this position is to provide procurement, financial reporting and budgetary support to the local department's programmatic and administrative units.

Processes procurements of office and other supplies in accordance with State of Maryland purchase regulations. Utilizes corporate purchasing card to facilitate Small Procurements and Purchase Orders. Assures a price is solicited from the proper number of vendors and that the buying action adheres to the State MBE and SBR Policy. Maintains well organized purchase order and contract records by fiscal year and vendor. Prepares daily deposits for various Agency and Comptroller bank accounts. Entry of deposit into appropriate financial software. Assists Finance Officer and other LGA staff in day-to-day operations. Compiles data as requested for special reports required by Administration in budget preparation, analysis and projections. Enter and review financial data entry into Agency Access database and related recordkeeping functions. Preparation and processing of emergency payments as requested. Reviews account adjustment requests from Child Support for accuracy against supporting documentation before applying the adjustment in the Child Support Administration (CSA) system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.

Experience: One year of experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute experience as defined above for the required education at the rate of one year of experience for 30 credit hours, for up to 60 credit hours of required education.

2. Candidates may substitute 90 credit hours at an accredited college or university for the required education and experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

1. One year experience using the following equipment: Printer, Scanner, Computer, Copier.

2. One year of experience using Word and Excel, and Access or an accounting software such as Quick Books.

3. One year of experience reconciling and/or monitoring financial/budgetary accounts.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

Limited to candidates willing to accept employment in Talbot County.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidate may be responsible for providing their own transportation as needed to access meetings, remote locations, and job destinations as assigned.

For education obtained outside the U.S., a copy of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service is required prior to hire.
