Main Purpose of Job

This position assists families to build strong foundations for success in the work environment through ongoing assessment and monitoring. The Resource Coordinator develops customer driven plans that emphasize strengths, interests, and steps needed to resolve barriers to employment and ultimately monitors compliance with the plan according to program requirements; assists customers with access to internal and external supports and services as well as collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the holistic needs of the family are met while program requirements are satisfied.

POSITION DUTIES

Interviews customers to assess their degree of job readiness by using the Online Work Readiness Assessment (OWRA); designs customer-driven goals and plans to increase family self-sufficiency by utilizing assessment data from the OWRA; provides families with all available resources, internal and external, by providing information, referrals, and assistance in accessing the resources; participates in building and maintaining unified team functioning and seamless customer service, as seen in regular participation in multi-disciplinary staffing of cases, timely communication and inter-agency referrals with co-workers, and cohesive customer service.  

Applies appropriate case actions to ensure compliance with program requirements by monitoring reports from the WORKS system; maintains documentation to comply with quality control standards by completing case narratives and scanning pertinent documents into the case record; and performs other related duties as assigned.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.

Experience: One year of experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute experience as defined above for the required education at the rate of one year of experience for 30 credit hours, for up to 60 credit hours of required education.

2. Candidates may substitute 90 credit hours at an accredited college or university for the required education and experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.

Experience working with State of Maryland government.

Candidate willing to work in St. Mary's County, MD.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

For education obtained outside the U.S., a copy of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service must be provided prior to hire. 

The resulting certified eligible list for this recruitment may be used for similar positions in this or other State agencies.

BENEFITS

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.

Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
