Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Inputs source data into citations from source documents prepared by field inspectors; reviews citations for accuracy; prepares citations for distribution to employers and employee unions; provides abatement confirmation letters to accompany citations; and verifies legal and work site address of employers.
Provide administrative/secretarial support to the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH) Division of Operations and the MOSH Office of Review by ensuring that the daily workflow of administrative responsibilities are performed according to established policies and procedures set forth by management. Log in cases received from Region offices into the Operations database. Provide clerical support to the Assistant Chief of Administration by performing photocopying of Maryland Public Information Act (MPIA) requests, filing of inspection reports and other documents.
Assists the supervisor of the Office of Review as directed by the Assistant Chief of Administration in the preparation of letters to employers for collection of monies owed to the agency.
Process “No Inspection” complaints by entering data into National Cash Registry (NCR), assign log number, prepare folder and prepare letter to complainant.
Prepares monthly report of all citations prepared and mailed each month.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years performing secretarial or clerical work involving typing duties.
Notes:
1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Administrative Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a keyboard of a personal computer at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required, depending on the specific requirements of the position.
All candidates are subject to a background check against files maintained by the Division of Unemployment Insurance (DLLR/DUI) to determine whether any monies are owed to DLLR/DUI as a result of unemployment insurance overpayment/fraud. Any unpaid debt may have an impact on whether or not a candidate is offered employment.
