LOCATION OF POSITION
Main Purpose of Job
The primary function of the position includes evaluating the adequacy of State agencies' plans to resolve audit findings and monitoring and/or auditing the implementation of audit recommendations. Assess the adequacy of agency actions implemented. This position reports to the Deputy Secretary.The ideal candidate will be able to effectively communicate with agency personnel and legislative auditors to gain accurate understanding of audit issues and actions being taken to resolve them.
This is a special appointment position that will serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority.
POSITION DUTIES
·Reviews audit reports, discussion notes, and audit work papers for agencies/programs with repeat findings or on an as needed basis.
·Review agency plans to resolve audit findings and assesses the adequacy of agency plans to satisfactorily resolve findings.
·Assists and advises agencies on the adequacy of their plans to resolve findings.
·Identifies where planned corrective actions appear inadequate and where areas of disagreement exist.
·Monitors overall implementation of agency corrective and ongoing actions to resolve audit findings through period status reports
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
3 years of experience auditing government or legislative programs (federal, state or local).
2 years of experience working with information systems, preferably in information systems auditing.
1 year of experience providing training or presentations on audit or accounting topics.
Certification of one or more of the following: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
