MDH/Carroll County Health Department, Bureau of Prevention, Wellness and Recovery, Westminster, Maryland

Main Purpose of Job

This position will assist people with chronic and persistent mental illness with linkage to permanent supported housing, community-based behavioral health services, and employment. This position will also assist this particular group of people with accomplishing independence and self-sufficiency through resource development and supports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: None. 

Notes: Candidates may substitute experience providing assistance to individuals in a health care or social services setting, on a year-for-year basis, for the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should have experience working with adults with serious mental illness and/or those who have experienced homelessness. He/she should also have experience working with HUD programs.  

The desired candidate should be bilingual (Spanish) and/or American Sign Language capable. 

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
