Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Juris Doctor degree or equivalent degree from an accredited law school.
Experience: Four years of experience researching and presenting cases for court trial or formal governmental hearing or conducting those hearings and rendering the resultant decisions.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute admission to the bar of any State or federal jurisdiction for two years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in judge advocate classification or judge advocate specialty codes in the general attorney field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in scheduling and maintaining a calendar.
Experience preparing court grievances and legal documents.
Experience preparing for administrative hearings.
LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION
This is an internal recruitment limited to current employees of the Lower Appeals Division only.
