Main Purpose of Job
The Maryland Health Care Commission is an independent State agency responsible for planning for health system needs and promoting informed decision-making by providing timely and accurate information on availability, cost, and quality of health care services to policymakers, purchasers, providers, and the public. The Maryland Health Care Commission is seeking a MHCC Program Manager to assist with responsibilities to include: developing State Health Plan chapters on acute hospital and ambulatory surgical services such as cardiac surgery, obstetrics, neonatal intensive care, organ transplant and psychiatry; preparing staff reports and policy analysis papers with recommendations for consideration by the Commission; preparing analyses of health services utilization and financing data; and, providing Certificate of Conformance and Certificate of Ongoing Performance reviews of projects proposing the development of percutaneous coronary intervention services. The position requires strong writing, quantitative analysis, and oral presentation skills, as well as the ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience evaluating, analyzing, and researching health care services or health care policies. A Master’s degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Policy, or closely related field will substitute for one year of the required experience. A Ph.D in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for two years of required experience.
This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority. A resume must accompany your application.
