Main Purpose of Job

This position will learn about the work of the Department of Human Services and how staff work to promote a Maryland where people independently support themselves and their families and where individuals are safe from abuse and neglect.

POSITION DUTIES

Learns about human service programs such as child welfare, adult services, family investment, aging, energy assistance, and other program services with the Department of Human Services; Learns how agency staff conduct studies and analyses of agency human service programs, procedures, practices and organizations and make recommendations to improve system efficiency and operations; Learns how agency staff assist in the administration of a human services program area and/or of an operational unit within an agency; Learns how agency staff plan and implement new or revised procedures, practices and processes.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • High School Junior or Senior this coming fall 2018

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate is highly motivated in contributing to human services. 
  • Interested in a career within the human services field.
  • Good Communication skills.
  • Good computer skills.

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated.  If selected for an interview, you may be required to provide proof of currently being enrolled in a Maryland High school transcript.  For all foreign education obtained outside the U. S. you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service if selected for an interview.
