Main Purpose of Job

This is a professional position responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise to support and mange the implementation of online testing for statewide assessments grades 3 through high school. The position provides facilitation and coordination of MSDE staff, the staff of contractors, and the staff of local school systems responsible for implementation of online testing in schools throughout the state. This position also assists with the training and monitoring of the LEA 24- Special Placement Schools.

POSITION DUTIES

Provides project management oversight of online testing programs and assistance with interpreting and applying ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) regulations as they relate to all of the assessment programs; provides technical leadership for configurations of testing environments in LEA 24– Special Placement Schools; provides quality assurance for online testing implementation; assists in providing training and monitoring for the LEA 24-Special Placement Schools; Provides Bilingual services for the Division.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:  Master’s Degree or equivalent 36 credit hours of post baccalaureate course work from an accredited college or university.

EXPERIENCE:  Four (4) years of professional work experience in or affiliated with an education program; this experience to include two years coordinating or administering an education program or services directly related to the position. Fluent in Spanish is desirable.

NOTES:

  1. Two years of additional experience as defined above may be substituted for the Master’s Degree.
  2. Possession of a Doctorate in a field related to the position may be substituted for one year of the experience requirements.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of educational assessment programs; knowledge of online educational assessment; skill in providing technical guidance to internal and external teams; skill in managing multiple timelines and deadlines simultaneously; skills using computer technology; skill and fluency in understanding and speaking Spanish; ability to maintain day to day knowledge of all plans, activities, and status of projects and issues; ability to analyze complex program issues and to recommend solutions; ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external teams; ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

Proof of eligibility to work in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act and possible travel throughout the State are required.  Any misrepresentation of academic or experience requirements for this position may result in non-selection or termination of employment.
