Main Purpose of Job

This position serves as the lead office administrator and intermediary for the Assistant State Superintendent of Assessment and Accountability and is responsible for providing high-level administrative and secretarial support in establishing and maintaining all office protocols.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Serves as intermediary for the Assistant State Superintendent in overseeing operational details: sustains direct oversight of scheduling and calendar logistics.
  • Establishes and maintains contact with agency executive associates and other staff.
  • Completes and prepares documents for Assistant State Superintendent to review and approve.
  • Establishes and maintains filing systems for records and documents.
  • Addresses and direct incoming correspondence and inquiries.
  • Reviews and tracks legislative details during the legislative session.
  • Develops forms, summaries, and presentations; requisitions supplies, reconciles credit card statements and expense accounts.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.

EXPERIENCE: Five years of progressively responsible experience providing administrative support to a senior or executive level manager.  One year of the above experience must have included Office Management.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

1 year experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following qualifications are preferred, not required:

  • Project management support experience
  • Relevant experience in a State or local government agency
