Main Purpose of Job

This physician will direct the medical care of all patients on the Medical Unit. In addition to directing medical care on the Medical Unit, the physician will provide primary medical services to patients on other admission, extended care, research, geriatric, domiciliary, or other units as determined by the Director of Somatic Services. These services will be governed by the physician's delineation of privileges in accordance with his/her medical staff credentialing, and will be under the direction of the Director of Somatic Services. These services will complement the comprehensive medical services provided to patients/residents of SGHC with the purpose of maintaining or improving the health status of the patients/residents. These services will be provided in accordance with current standards of medical practice and in accordance with all requirements or guidelines pertaining to any applicable regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, or committees within or outside of Spring Grove Hospital.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires an MD degree from an accredited college or university, Board Certification, and two years of medical practice, preferably at a supervisory or administrative level.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Applicants must be licensed and currently registered with the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State law.  A copy of the current registration must be attached to the application.

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority. A resume must accompany your application.
