Main Purpose of Job

The Agency Buyer IV position with DJS initiates requisitions to produce purchase orders. This position will also be responsible for all work related to procurement, receipts, storage, distribution and disposition of supplies, material and equipment. The Agency Buyer IV develops or modifies product specifications to meet specific needs and provides technical advice regarding specifications, standard packaging, and product suitability to the agency. This position will supervise all staff performing duties related to the purchasing, procurement, storage and distribution of supplies, equipment and services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a State high school equivalence certificate.

Experience: Eight years of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, purchasing and requisitioning supplies, materials, and equipment, six years of which must have included experience at the supervisory or management level or must have involved the final responsibility for purchasing and requisitioning.

Notes: Applicants may substitute education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for one year of experience for up to one year of the required general experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, to include Access and Excel
2. Possess an intermediate level of experience with FMIS, ADPICS, R*STARS or similar accounting system
3. Two (2) years experience with procurement
4. Two (2) years of experience planning and supervising the work of employees
5. Experience with bid solicitation and/or specification writing.
