Main Purpose of Job

This position is the second-ranking senior administrator for the Office for Genetics and People with Special Health Care Needs (OGPSHCN), a multi-million-dollar public health office serving children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN). OGPSHCN houses programs for infant hearing screening, newborn screening follow up, critical congenital heart disease screening, birth defects surveillance, specialty care funding for children who are uninsured or underinsured, CYSHCN-focused grants through the federal Title V Maternal and Child Health Block Grant Program (Systems Development), and an operations unit. This position directly supervises the five program/unit chiefs who administer OGPSHCN's programs, is responsible for OGPSHCN's administrative standards, and works closely with the Systems Development Chief and Operations Unit Chief to oversee the operational component of grant administration through the federal Title V Maternal and Child Health Block Grant Program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 6 years of professional health or human service experience, including 3 years of supervisory or management experience.  The successful applicant should have 2 years of experience working with grants.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
