Introduction

The department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR), Division of Workforce Development and Adult Learning (DWDAL) is accepting application's from qualified candidate's for Administrator I in the Office of Workforce Development (OWD).  Please be advised that frequent travel may be required and a State vehicle may not always be available.  Reimbursement for use of personal vehicle will apply according to the State ravel policy.

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to work in the Office of Workforce Development, Division of Workforce Development and Adult Learning is to work with employers and job seekers to address their employment needs by providing the highest level of services that will support the economic stability of the labor force, businesses and the community.

POSITION DUTIES

Interpret departmental policies and relate policy objectives to management, associates, job seeking clients and employers, workforce development and adult learning partners, and the general public to foster an understanding of DLLR/DWDAL services; Assist in the preparation of work plans, annual plans, MOUs, agreements with participating agencies, statistical and narrative reports, regional field instructions achieve objectives in program, and ensure compliance by disseminating information to staff at multi-levels regarding policy, procedures and progress made toward goal achievement; Work with senior program manager at the state and local levels to support and improve the program of services within the Office of Workforce Development; Act as a resource for other departments, states and other program administrators on program services and delivery issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

One year of experience delivering presentations in a professional setting.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. One year experience with workforce development programs.  

2. One year experience working with job seeking clients and employers.  

3. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
