Main Purpose of Job

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the activities for Maryland's Money Follows the Person (MFP) demonstration, including the Maryland Access Point (MAP) initiative. This will include: reviewing and developing policies related to the expansion of MAP sites including, integrating MFP activities such as options counseling within the MAP site functions, assisting with sustainability planning, and developing template agreements to be used by the various agencies that make up the MAP site which include protocols for data sharing, cross referrals, and co-location; serving as a liaison with interested groups, individual agencies, and other divisions and departments regarding home and community based services and the MFP demonstration; reviewing policies and applying that knowledge to assist stakeholder groups in developing new services; drafting and editing material written to facilitate the coordination of supports between MFP contractors and individual agencies, other divisions, and departments; and performing other duties. The Analyst must have strong written and verbal communication skills to respond to complex sensitive issues associated with older adults and persons with disabilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Two years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.

Notes:

 1. A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

 2. A PhD in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
