Main Purpose of Job

Provide general housekeeping and janitorial services to maintain the facility and housing area of the large size state Public Safety Education and Training Center. Services are provided on campus which includes offices, dormitory rooms, classrooms, specialized training areas and public access areas of the facility. Supervisory responsibility of two other housekeeping personnel.

POSITION DUTIES

Provide supervisory oversight to two contractual housekeeping staff, providing daily work orders, tasks and assignments.  Inspect for accuracy and compliance with expectations.  Process timesheets and other supervisory tasks.

Responsible for cleaning dormitory throughout the Center.

Clean public restrooms, collect recycle materials and empty trash as necessary for all classrooms, administrative work areas and offices within the complex.  Clean classrooms and common areas within the Center.

Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned at Firearms Training, Driver Training and the Physical Training Facility.

Provide on site laundry services for special use items such as tablecloths and table skirting and quick turnaround items such as towels, washcloths and pillow cases.

Maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies and maintain a stocked housekeeping supply room.  Prepare inventory list of laundry to be sent out for cleaning.

Update computer systems for status of guest rooms and work orders.

Perform visual inspection and request work orders as needed for maintenance services within the complex.

Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  High School diploma or high school equivalency certificate.

Experience:  Six years full-time experience in a housekeeping operation at a school, hospital, hotel or other institution, three years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Employees in this classification may be required to work on weekends and holidays based on staffing needs. Employees required to work on those days will receive compensatory time off on other days. 2. Employees in this classification may be required to live on the grounds of the institution or agency.
