LOCATION OF POSITION

Parkville Readiness Center, Parkville, MD  21234

Main Purpose of Job

Maintains the plumbing and heating components of forty-two Maryland Army National Guard Facilities, including 342-buildings, 1 operational airfield, and four Military Training sites.

POSITION DUTIES

Repair, replace or install new plumbing.

Perform preventative maintenance and repair.

Heating controls and associated wiring.

Layout, excavate, repair, replace or install piping.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of eighth grade.

Experience: Four years experience in the building maintenance or building construction trades including three years of responsibility for assigning, reviewing and approving the work of other building maintenance or building construction workers.

Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher, as a non-commissioned officer in utilities classifications or mechanical maintenance management specialty codes in utility systems repair, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in the licensed option must possess and maintain a current Maryland First Grade Stationary Engineer License from the Board of Examining Engineers and must list the license number and date on the application.

2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
