LOCATION OF POSITION
MDH, John L. Gildner RICA (Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents), Rockville MD
Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to prepare nutritious, sanitary and safe meals for the individuals at the Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents and Noyes Children's Center. This position will also be responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of the work area, equipment and dining facilities.
This position supports the mission of the facility by ensuring that each individual at Regional Institute for Children and Adolescent and Noyes Children's Center receives correct meals and snacks according to the Federal Child Nutrition Program, Physician order and individual nutritional needs.
Experience: Three years of experience in food preparation at a public or governmental establishment, such as a restaurant, hospital or comparable institution involving the cooking of meats and vegetables and the preparation of salads and beverages.
Notes: 1. Graduation from an accredited vocational/technical high school with a major in food service or a related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Culinary classifications or Food Services specialty codes in the Equipment Services and Facilities field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
