Main Purpose of Job

This position of the Local Management Board (LMB) provides administrative support and technical expertise in the daily operations and long-term activities of the agency. This position is responsible for supporting the Director by assisting in the management and oversight of programs to preserve children and families that are funded through the Governor's Office of Children (GOC), by county government designation. The incumbent must be able to work and travel to all sites of the Worcester County Health Department, as well as travel to areas outside of Worcester County for program monitoring, program implementation, statewide meetings, and training related to job functions and system management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.

Experience: None

Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute one year of experience in administrative or professional work for the required education, at the rate of one year of experience for 30 credit hours, for up to 60 credit hours of the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred candidate for this position will possess:

  • experience providing administrative support (including planning, implementing and/or monitoring the delivery of services)
  • experience gathering data and/or information to analyze and complete reports

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
