Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to maintain adequate supply, material and equipment levels for the staff providing services to the patients of Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center.  Specifically, this position will be responsible for: requisitioning supplies, materials and equipment; maintaining storeroom records; preparing requests for purchase for stock items; communicating with vendors regarding shipments, receipt and delivery of supplies, materials and equipment; assembling equipment or furniture delivered to storeroom; and, directing the overall storeroom operations regarding the shipping, receiving and storage of storeroom supplies, materials and equipment when needed.

This position will also be responsible for: generating receiving reports for all incoming purchases, inputting data into the Financial Management Inventory System (FMIS), as required; establishing reorder points for supplies, materials and equipment; processing incoming equipment with proper identification/inventory tags; assisting in the transfer process for the removal/relocation of supplies, materials and equipment; and, directing and assisting in the annual physical inventory conducted by the hospital.  This position will supervise lower-level supply and storage workers or others performing storekeeping duties.

This position may lift supplies, materials and equipment weighing ten (10) pounds or more and may operate pallet jacks (both motorized and non-motorized) and other equipment and tools necessary to perform the assigned duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Three years of experience in receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials, or equipment in a storeroom, warehouse, or other supply storage facility.

Notes: 1. Additional experience as described above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics or unit supply field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired applicant should have the following:

-- experience using the State's Financial Management Inventory System (FMIS)

-- experience supervising lower-level supply and storage workers

-- experience conducting physical inventory of supplies, materials and equipment within a storeroom, warehouse or other supply storage facility

-- experience lifting supplies, materials and equipment weighing ten pounds or more

-- experience operating pallet jacks (both motorized and non-motorized)
