Main Purpose of Job

Incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the mail room and supply. Maintaining the agency asset management inventory. Monitor and maintain agency vehicles and recycling program. Act as a maintenance liaison. Assist with security activities to include special events. Mail and Supply: Receives and distributes deliveries to various locations within the agency. Maintain agency vehicles and recycling programs. Order, receive, and distribute supplies requested by agency staff. Daily process incoming and outgoing mail using postage equipments. Handle all special mail promptly and accurately. Handle special deliveries from FedEx, UPS, and the US Postal Service promptly and accurately. Provide coverage to main HQ office when requested. Receives and distributes payroll checks. Secure undeliverable checks. Provide customer service to both internal and external customers that meet or exceeds the standards set by the Department. Correctly log-in, process and deliver incoming checks to the Finance Office on a daily basis. Maintain an organized fully stocked supply room. Central Services: Maintain office supplies and Inventory Data. Maintain supply room and mail postal services equipments. Maintain and inventory Excess Property Disposals (EPD). Inventory building equipment and furniture. Assemble equipments. Repair broken equipments if applicable. Assist with space reorganization. Monitor and maintain copiers usage and supplies. Occasional visit to main office as needed. Building: Maintain awareness of physical condition of the agency and work areas. Report all problems to Central Service Officer/ Facilities Manager. Follows up on corrections, repairs, and cleaning with DGS Facility Management as needed. Assist supervisor with administrative tasks Building: Maintain awareness of physical condition of the agency areas. Report all problems to Central Service Officer/ Facilities Manager. Follows up on corrections, repairs, and cleaning with DGS Facility Management as needed. Assist with emergency shelters to include manning and assisting residents to file assistance for FEMA or State programs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies.

Note:

1. Additional experience as stated above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong preference will be given to applicants that possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualifications.

1. One year experience using Microsoft Office Word and Excel.

2. One year experience Customer service skills.

3. One year experience working in the Mail Room.
