Main Purpose of Job

This position provides staff support and assistance to the Department of Human Services, Central Distribution Center. The incumbent in this position will learn to input production jobs, print jobs and process the distribution of automated system outputs throughout the State.

POSITION DUTIES

Learns production, printing and processing of automated system output.

learns to prepare input for job runs.

Learns to operate mail distribution equipment to process the output of jobs; learns to identify job to be printed from queue, select and indicate file effectively to manage print job.

Learns to review operating instructions, special job/program and adjusts equipment as necessary to process output.

Learns to operate Xerox Nuvera 288 Digital Perfecting System Printer to produce reports, letters and client benefits as well as special department's mailings.

Learns to monitor equipment in operation for any adjustments, if necessary in accordance with prescribed limitations to continue operations in readability of output.

Learns to operate auto folder to fold inserts being mailed with clients' notices;

Learns to perform service and maintenance checks on equipment, and system remote back-ups.

Learns distribution of automated system output including preparing labels, letters for mail distribution, requisitions to maintain appropriate supply orders, routine monitoring of inventory for uninterrupted supply of materials.

Learns to maintain a daily distribution list , documents reports, documents postage/volume use of material mailed for audit trails and learns to perform other related support duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

It is imperative to list all computer and software experience on your application pertaining to your job duties.

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: None

Note: Experience operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing or maintaining information or performing clerical work involving reconciliation of data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong preference will be given to applicants that possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualifications.

The ideal candidate with have:

1.One year experience operating distribution equipment: such as Digital Perfecting System Printer, Flexible Productivity Series Mailing, Auto Fold Fast Folding and BARR-RJE System

2.One year demonstrated experience following instructions, entering, retrieving and updating information using computer software.

3.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and able to bend, carry and kneel.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
