Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for State fleet and travel administration. Specifically, the position is responsible for assuring the efficient and effective use of the State fleet of 8800 vehicles through establishing policy, conducting fleet management reviews as needed, and managing the statewide vehicle maintenance, repair and accident management contract. The position also manages the statewide travel services contract. The position must use sound judgement, ingenuity and initiative in developing new methods and proposing new policies and exhibit excellent people skills in working with State agencies.

POSITION DUTIES

This position functions as the State's Fleet Manager and Travel Administrator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.

Experience: Five years of Fleet Administration and Management experience required.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.

Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.

EXAMINATION PROCESS
