Main Purpose of Job
The incumbent in this position will research and write biographies of these soldiers to be published online, utilizing a wide range of primary and secondary sources. Biographies will explore soldier's military service, as well as their lives before and after the war, and place them into historical context.
The incumbent will also maintain and regularly update the project's research blog with posts about the project, biographical subjects, and historical topics.
POSITION DUTIES
Research and write online biographies of members of the First Maryland Regiment.
Maintain and regularly update research blog.
Respond to related research inquiries and directives as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree in history or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants with at least 3 credits hours of coursework in the areas of colonial, Revolutionary, early-National eras and/or Maryland history or One year professional experience in a position researching and documenting the areas of colonial, Revolutionary, early-National eras and/or Maryland history are preferred.
LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION
Current Maryland students and undergraduate or graduate students who have graduated within the last two years are encouraged to apply.
