LOCATION OF POSITION
Howard County Health Department, Columbia, MD
Main Purpose of Job
This position performs work pertaining to Non-Emergency Medicaid Transportation. The position screens Howard County residents to determine whether they are qualified to obtain non-emergency medical transportation services. The position also investigates recipient inquiries and complaints regarding the transportation service, reviews/audits transportation requests, assists with auditing and calculating monthly payment of vendor bills, and performs other duties as required. The incumbent of the position is required to have knowledge of the requirements of the Maryland Medicaid Non-Emergency Transportation Program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.
Experience: None
Note:
1. Candidates may substitute one year of experience in administrative or professional work for the required education, at the rate of one year of experience for 30 credit hours, for up to 60 credit hours of the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

- Customer service experience
- Knowledge of the requirements of the Medical Assistance Transportation Program
- Experience working in a call center

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS
The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
