Supplemental Questionnaire - LIFEGUARD

Do you currently have or will have by May 2019 valid through September 2019, a lifeguarding certification issued by Red Cross or comparable organization?

NOTE: Completion of lifeguard certification prior to May 2019 is required to be considered eligible.  

Do you currently have or will have by May 2019 valid through September 2019, a valid certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid?

Due to oceanfront standards, Assateague State Park lifeguard candidates are required to pass a swim test of 500 meters in 10 minutes or less.  Are you able to pass a required pool swim test of 500 meteres in 10 minutes or less?

Are you able to pass a required ocean swim test including running on sand, ocean swimming, and rescuing a victim from the ocean?

Applicants must be 16 years of age or older to work as a lifeguard.  Will you be at least 16 years of age by May 15, 2019?

This position requires the ability to work a rotating shift. Shifts may be as long as 8 hours, beginning as early as 7:30 a.m. and ending as late as 11:00 p.m. Are you able to meet this requirement?

This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift items up to 30 pounds.  Are you able to meet this requirement?

Supplemental Questionnaire -- MAINTENANCE

This position requires the ability to work a rotating shift.  Shifts may be as long as 8 hours, begin as early as 6:00 a.m. and end as late as 10:00 p.m.  Are you able to meet this requirement?

Seasonal Maintenance work requires the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time, lift heavy objects, do repetitive bending and stooping, climb ladders and operate heavy equipment. Are you able to meet this requirement?
