POSITION DUTIES

This Health Policy Analyst II will conduct research and analysis of contact tracing data to support policy, programs and services development.  Job duties include: Preparing reports summarizing the results of contact tracing outcomes and research; Representing the Contact Tracing Unit and MDH at private sector and public meetings on contact tracing policy issues; Analyzing and developing recommendations regarding contact tracing activities and policies; Preparing testimony on contact tracing activities and policies; Designing surveys and other research methodologies for forecasting contact tracing participation rates by the public and MDH and local health department needs to implement contact tracing.  This position will also responds to constituent and other inquiries regarding contact tracing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Two years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.

Notes:

 1. A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

 2. A PhD in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

  • Experience working in public health at the federal, state, or local level;
  • Experience working in a high pressure setting with time-sensitive demands; and,
  • Experience drafting policy and guidance and in using various methods to analyze public health activities and outcomes and developing appropriate recommendations.   

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
