Main Purpose of Job

The mission of the Maryland Board of Physicians is to assure quality health care in Maryland through the efficient licensure and effective discipline of health providers under its jurisdiction, by protecting and educating clients/customers and stakeholders, and enforcing the Maryland Medical Practice Act. The Compliance Analyst Associate directly supports this mission by assisting in the investigation of cases and other compliance issues and questions of various stages and levels of investigation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or university.

Experience:  None

Notes: 1.  Experience conducting investigations in the area of health care, insurance, medical malpractice or other related investigative experience as defined by the Maryland Board of Physicians may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Legal or Investigator classification or Legal or Investigator specialty codes in the Investigation field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:

  • Experience conducting investigations in the areas of health care, insurance and medical malpractice;
  • Paralegal experience;
  • Research and analytical writing experience;
  • Experience drafting summaries; and/or,
  • Experience working with legal documents.
