Annual Salary Range: $49,971 - $64,857 (with progression to $79,996)

Main Purpose of Job

These positions assist in the management of the technical functions for the Office of Information Technology and assist with the development and maintenance of IT procurements and renewal of annual contracts.

POSITION DUTIES

Manages the annual renewal process for IT hardware and software support contracts; Administers technology procurement process for IT hardware, software including software licenses and product keys; downloads software from manufacturers’ web portals; ensures all software installations are properly licensed to comply with copyright laws; evaluates and implements software application(s); Maintains and controls inventory of IT assets (Accountable Officer) located in the Data Center and equipment assigned to OIT staff; provides oversight and coordinates the sale of surplus equipment on GovDeals; provides direction and addresses customer requests to order IT peripherals; oversees OIT purchasing card purchases; administers WebEx and serves  as FMIS security officer; provides technical assistance with SmartBoards and related audiovisual systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or other information technology related field to include course work in systems analysis and applications programming using generally accepted computer programming languages or in operating systems and data communications technology.

EXPERIENCE: One year of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining applications systems and programs using generally accepted computer programming languages or maintaining and modifying operating systems for computers.

  1. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or other information technology related field to include course work in systems analysis and applications programming using generally accepted computer programming languages or in operating systems and data communications technology may be substituted for the required education.
  2. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and one additional year of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining applications systems and programs using generally accepted computer programming languages or maintaining and modifying operating systems for computers may be substituted for the required education.
  3. Experience operating computer systems; or scheduling, controlling input and output or maintaining a tape library to process data on computer systems; or evaluating, implementing and maintaining microcomputer hardware and software; or converting data from project specifications by developing program code using generally accepted computer programming languages may be substituted for high school education on a year-for-year basis.
  4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Cyber and Information Systems classifications or Cyber and Information Systems specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

6 months of experience with Hardware Software management and/or oversight.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and experience with day-to-day operations of a full service information technology center; knowledge of assessing and analyzing IT procurement processes and deriving solutions; skill in managing and supporting software and hardware acquisition processes; skill in providing administration and support and resolution for information technology access systems, hardware, software and infrastructure; skill in developing and maintaining acquisition practices for software applications and IT projects; skill in managing hardware and software updates and resolving requirement and user concerns;  ability to assess user requirements requests; ability to communicate effectively with staff, managers, and customers.
