POSITION DUTIES
- Negotiating agreements with participating departments and agencies.
- Providing expertise and technical assistance to federal and state legislators and legislative staff for the authoring of program –related legislation.
- Consulting with the U.S. Department of Labor and its management staff at the regional and national level to develop and refine procedures and standards.
- Decision making as the Subject Matter Expert for the State on employment tax credits.
- Participating in the federal grant request and planning process by developing and proposing plans by amassing statistics, assessing required performance standards and monitoring evaluations of past performance to satisfy the parameters of the grant proposal.
- Collecting data and preparing quarterly and annual reports as required by the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL).
- Coordinating and implementing staffing procedures to include writing job descriptions, interviewing, hiring, evaluating and disciplining personnel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Experience: Two years experience in administrative or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Prior experience processing tax credit applications or similar transactions.
- Prior experience in Program Management and Planning.
- Prior experience in Customer Service.
