POSITION DUTIES

This position will serve as the PDMP Coordinator of operations, outreach, and engagement for the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) within the Office of Provider Engagement and Regulation's Office of the PDMP. This position will work with internal and external personnel and with vendors to maintain, track, and report out on program activities, address day-to-day programmatic and stakeholder needs, expand IT and programmatic functionality in response to evolving requirements and needs, to meet deadlines and reporting requirements, and to evaluate the efficiency and impact of the Office of the PDMP. This position will also use independent judgment and analysis to interpret PDMP policies and priorities, develop project timelines and plans, create and maintain project metrics tracking mechanisms for program evaluation and impact purposes, advise on vendor scopes of work and progress toward completion of deliverables, and engage with professional and community stakeholders. This position will continue to expand and enhance health care provider engagement and educational opportunities aimed at improving the quality of care delivered in Maryland as it relates to controlled substance prescribing and dispensing. The position will also serve a critical role in supporting and improving those activities. This position is a core component of the State's strategy to address opioid and other prescription drug related morbidity and mortality, and drug diversion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Three years experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

 2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should have:

- general knowledge and/or experience with public health - project management (i.e., developing project timelines and plans, creating and maintaining project metrics tracking mechanisms)

- program evaluation and reporting experience (i.e., evaluating efficiency of operations, developing, revising and recommending new policies, creating and maintaining program SOP's)

- experience organizing, implementing and administering health care provider communication

- data entry and tracking experience

- experience communicating in writing to various audiences

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
