MDH, Potomac Center and Court Involved Residential Program (CIRP), Hagerstown, MD

Main Purpose of Job

This position will serve as the Director of Psychology Services and is responsible for the administration, directing and monitoring of clinical services for the evaluation/assessment and long term Court Involved Residential Program (CIRP) units.  The incumbent supervises professional staff including three psychology associates, four clinical social workers, and qualified developmental disabilities professional (QDDP) who deliver services on each of the Units, and psychologist(s) and social worker who provide competency attainment and therapeutic services (i.e. anger management) to individuals receiving services in DDA licensed community and/or other settings.  This position is responsible for developing reports and following Department of Health Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) protocol for submitting reports to the courts. This position is part of Management Team and Behavioral Health and Human Rights Subcommittee for CIRP. This position provides psychology services on the Units, as needed and provides staff training.


Qualified candidates must possess a doctorate degree in Psychology acceptable to the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists and five years of experience rendering psychological services including three years post-doctorate clinical experience, and two years of supervisory experience.



Candidates must possess a current Maryland license to practice as a Psychologist from the Maryland Board of Psychologists or have the ability to obtain a Psychologist license prior to appointment.


This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
