LOCATION OF POSITION
Current Vacancy (Compliance Programs Section): This position is responsible for providing secretarial support to three unit managers in the Compliance Programs Section of the Compliance Division. This includes setting up, creating and typing memos, reports, form letters and templates to be used by management and the audit staff; proofreading outgoing correspondence for completeness and accuracy; answering telephone calls and directing the caller to the appropriate staff member or taking appropriate messages; opening, sorting and distributing incoming correspondence; maintaining and requesting supplies for Compliance Programs staff, fax machine and copiers.
Future Vacancy (Field Audit Section): This position is responsible for providing support the Assistant Chief Auditors in the Field Audit Section of the Compliance Division. Duties for this position include process incoming refunds, processing incoming mail, general filing and office duties, answering telephone calls and directing the caller to the appropriate staff member or taking appropriate messages.
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years performing secretarial or clerical work involving typing duties.
- Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
- Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Administrative Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Qualifying applicants are subject to an oral interview. Prior to appointment, the employee must successfully undergo a comprehensive background investigation including a review of criminal, MVA and tax records; and determination of legal authorization to work in the United States or under the United States Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. Upon initial appointment OR promotion to a position in the State Personnel Management System, an employee is required to serve an initial six month probationary period. This probationary period may be extended an additional six months under certain circumstances at the discretion of the appointing authority.
