Main Purpose of Job
This position will provide guidance, policy expertise, and other services to gubernatorally-appointed citizen review boards in one or more jurisdictions of the state. The boards conduct case reviews, monitor child welfare programs, and make recommendations for system improvement in order to enhance the management of individual children's cases as well as the administration of the system as a whole. Goals are that children will be safe, be placed in stable, permanent living arrangements without undue delay; enjoy continuity of relationships; and have the opportunity to develop to their full potential. This position requires frequent travel throughout the State of Maryland. It may travel up to five days a week to provide services to constituents.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Three years social casework experience providing professional community organization services in a child or adolescent services program or as an advocate in a child welfare program.
Notes:
1. Additional social casework experience providing professional community organization services in a child or adolescent services program or as an advocate in a child welfare program may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.
2.Graduate work in social work, community organization or public administration from an accredited college or university may be substituted on a year for year basis for two years of the related experience.

For education obtained outside the U.S., a copy of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service is required prior to hire.
