Main Purpose of Job

The Assistant Director for Prescription Drug Monitoring (PDMP) and Overdose Prevention (OP) Applied Data Programs Office oversees units within the PDMP and OP Applied Data Office that are responsible for programs, services and new initiatives that are operated primarily at the state level and are statewide in scope and impact. Primary areas of focus include data collection and analysis to support strategic planning, development of public health surveillance, notification and response systems, and health information technology infrastructure development. Major programs whose operations or data custody are under the Assistant Director's oversight include the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP), Overdose Response Program (ORP), data analyses using PDMP, fatal overdose data from the Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME), and other relevant datasets, and healthcare provider outreach and education initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Health or Human Services and three years of work experience in health, public health or behavioral health fields.  Candidates must also possess a minimum of three years of experience in management, including responsibility for fiscal and personnel and a minimum of two years of experience with data analysis or data management. Candidates must have experience with project management.

Bachelor’s Degree and an additional two years of the general experience requirement may be substituted for the Master’s Degree.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred candidates should possess knowledge of PDMP; health or pharmacy data or IT program experience.

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
