Introduction

The Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR), Division of Workforce Development and Adult Learning (DWDAL) is accepting applications from qualified candidates for Program Manager I in the Office of Workforce Development (OWD).  Please be advised that frequent travel may be required and a State vehicle may not always be available. Reimbursement for use of personal vehicle will apply according to the State travel policy.

Main Purpose of Job

The purpose of this position is the development or reemployment programs and services that will reduce the average weeks duration for profiled unemployment insurance claimants.

POSITION DUTIES

Manage Reemployment programs in Maryland including Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessments (RESEA) and Reemployment Opportunity (ROW) in order to provide the services to profiled unemployment customers to support the economic stability of the labor force, businesses and the community. Update existing programs and develop additional services to ensure relevancy to the population to reduce the average weeks duration for unemployment insurance claimants.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university  

Experience:  Six years of experience in administrative staff or professional work, two years of the required experience must have been in reemployment programs, working with unemployment insurance claimants or program management..  One year of supervisory experience is required.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

At least 2 years of experience in reemployment programs, working with unemployment insurance claimants or program management.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated knowledge of unemployment and workforce development programs.
