NATURE OF WORK

The Maryland Board of Physicians (MBP) Licensure Analyst is the full performance level of work with the Maryland Board of Physicians in the analysis and investigation of all applications for initial licensure and reinstatement of licensure.  Employees in this classification do not supervise.

Employees in this classification receive general supervision from a MBP Licensure Analyst Supervisor or a designated supervisor or higher-level administrator.

Positions in this classification are evaluated using the classification job evaluation methodology. The use of this method involves comparing the assigned duties and responsibilities of a position to the job criteria found in the Nature of Work and Examples of Work sections of the class specification.

The MBP Licensure Analyst is differentiated from the MBP Licensure Analyst Associate based on the degree of supervisory control exercised by the supervisor over these employees.  The MBP Licensure Analyst performs the duties and responsibilities under general supervision while the MBP Licensure Analyst Associate performs duties and responsibilities under close supervision.  The MBP Licensure Analyst is differentiated from the MBP Licensure Analyst Lead in that the MBP Licensure Analyst Lead assigns, reviews and approves the work of and trains lower-level MBP Licensure Analysts.
