If so, then consider a profession with Loudoun County Department of Family Services as an HR Generalist I for the next step in your career.

The Department of Family Services (DFS) is seeking a HR Generalist to be part of the Department's Human Resources & Organizational Development (HROD) program within the Department of Family Services. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and employee focused.

Day-to-day responsibilities focus on overall department support. Specifically, this position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Working with management on recruitment processes and timelines which may include but not be limited to; preparing job advertisements, salary worksheets, offer letters and other correspondence to employees
  • Coordinating use of Applicant Tracking system
  • Managing department staffing data and reports
  • Completing Employee Actions (EAs) Forms 
  • Coordinating background checks 
  • Completing special projects and other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate should have the following:

  • Knowledge of general HR policies and procedures governing assigned tasks. 
  • Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) as well as knowledge of Excel, and MS Office applications. 
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment and benefit laws and regulations governing the work of an HR division.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate.
  • Ability to use and understand automated systems and equipment for assigned duties.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of personnel and payroll records. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; one (1) year of related work experience in the assigned area; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

  • SHRM Certification
  • Experience with recruitment & Selection

Valid drive's license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification). DMV, criminal and credit background checks required.
