Job Description

The Department Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services (MHSADS) is currently seeking an energetic and dynamic QMHP for the position of Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Vocational Specialist to provide assertive community treatment services to adults with serious mental illness (SMI), and/or co-occurring substance use disorders. The ACT Team serves individuals in scattered sites throughout Loudoun County and is responsible to respond with treatment interventions in non-clinic-based setting.

ACT Vocational Specialist:

  • Conducts assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, care management and supportive counseling; and interagency consultation and coordination of treatment services.
  • Maintains all clinical records and documentation according to Federal, State and Agency policies and procedures. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to function as a member of a busy, mobile clinical transdisciplinary team utilizing advanced clinical skills
  • Transports individuals in a program vehicles.
  • Provides individualized interventions, promotes readiness and individualized care for anyone interested in employment activities.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field; two (2) years of related work experience
    preferably with previous experience as a vocational/employment specialist, ACT/PACT/ICT
    clinician, behavioral health therapist, case manager, service coordinator or multi-disciplinary team
    facilitator with adults; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)
  • Valid driver's license

PREFERRED:

  • Bilingual
  • Previous experience with an ACT team

Special Requirements

Work schedule is flexible and will require day, evening, weekends, and holiday hours.

Employment is contingent upon successfully passing pre-employment background check to include fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV and TB test. Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
