The Loudoun County Treasurer's Office is currently seeking highly qualified applicants for a Collections Program Assistant at our Sterling, Virginia location. This position involves direct contact with taxpayers regarding collection of delinquent accounts. The duties of this position include performing all collection activities on past due tax accounts and Loudoun County departments.
The collection activities include, but are not limited to, skip-tracing, placing liens, conducting telephone inquiries, and DMV stops. Other duties include answering phone calls in a call center environment, mail distribution, collection of payments, cashiering, and other special projects. The successful candidate will possess collection activity experience, excellent communication, and customer service skills. Strong multi-tasking skills are essential, along with being able to handle a fast-paced, ever-evolving work environment. This position requires proficient skills in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, as well as the use of discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Hiring Salary: Commensurate with experience.
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma (associate degree preferred) and 3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in a call center, collections environment preferred and applicants with knowledge of local taxation or finance are encouraged. Bilingual Spanish/English encouraged.
Normal working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM with mandatory overtime during tax deadlines.
Successful candidate will undergo criminal background and credit check.
