LEAD COURIER - PART TIME

Job Description

The Department of General Services is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a part-time Mailroom Lead Courier position within the Management Support Services Division. This position will work a set schedule of up to 29 hours per week.

This role entails acting as a team leader responsible for aiding in the coordination of routes and overseeing couriers and other support personnel in the event of the Mailroom Technician's absence. Additionally, it will function as an alternative for full-time staff during their nonattendance. Additional responsibilities include: 

  • Conducts designated courier routes. 
  • Gathers and organizes packages from UPS, FedEx, USPS, inter-departmental mail, and other items for delivery to County facilities. 
  • Supports the upkeep of designated motor pool vehicle(s). 
  • Responds to specific requests for special courier deliveries. 
  • Preserves the quality of delivered materials. 
  • Collaborates on specialized initiatives. 
  • Participates in package deliveries. 
  • Aids in the operation of the mail machine. 
  • Supports departments in executing certified mail procedures and verifying accurate departmental charges.

Job Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent and six (6) months of related experience (preferably coordinating delivery needs/teams); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements

Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
