Job Description

As the Aging Services Division Manager, you will use your talents and expertise to oversee the Area Agency on Aging services and operations, the Elder Resources programs, the Central Kitchen that prepares meals for the senior adults in our centers and communities, and three Adult Day Centers offering respite care; ensuring that all participants are treated with respect and dignity. Our PRCS Aging Services Division Manager serves as a subject matter expert for the department; utilizes knowledge of policies and procedures to advise management on applicable laws and regulations, and best practices for delivering services for the senior adult population.

This position oversees the provision of front-line support and case assistance services as well as the services offered to seniors with cognitive limitations and their caregivers who utilize our Adult Day Centers. The internal operations managed by this position are managing grant administration for multiple grants that support these services, and the volunteer program that assists with delivering these needed services to our communities. Responsibilities include managing county-wide, state-licensed adult day care centers, and various aging programs and services.

As Division Manager, you will ensure the highest quality of services are available and provided to seniors and their families throughout the community. As a member of the department's Leadership Team, you will contribute to department-wide initiatives and projects to help us achieve our mission of connecting communities through exceptional people, parks, and programs. The ideal candidate will be a service-oriented professional who will ensure our senior adult communities are fully supported through services and programs while managing the additional needs expected from the anticipated twenty percent growth of the senior population over the next five years in Loudoun County, VA. PRCS serves a diverse population including but not limited to youth, adults, individuals with disabilities, and seniors.

We are currently hiring at the following location: 

  • PRCS, 742 Miller Drive, Leesburg, VA

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Stay current with national, regional, and local agencies, programs, grants and networks, and applicable laws pertaining to senior adult services, grant administration, and licensing standards. 
  • Maintain relevant knowledge and understanding of common standards of providing services to senior adult communities, including compliance with nutrition standards, participant satisfaction, presentation, and timeliness of prepared meals. 
  • Support internal processes to drive funding decisions: reporting, presentations, board meetings, etc. 
  • Manages assigned Division operations and program resources; assesses program effectiveness, efficiency, outcomes, and quality; defines performance measures for programs, divisions, unit, or branch; ensures services are provided within standards of applicable regulations, policies, and procedures; and identifies opportunities to improve service delivery or documentation. 
  • Assists with planning the short-term and long-term strategic direction of the Department; provides leadership to ensure the Department's goals are achieved. 
  • Conducts research on issues affecting the Division; reviews pending legislation that my impact Division operations. 
  • Represents Department at internal and external meetings and conferences. 
  • Ensure departmental performance evaluation objectives and deadlines are met. 
  • Directly supervise staff and oversee a large number of full-time, part-time, and temporary staff. 
  • Serve as liaison to various advisory groups, committees, and organizations.

Salary commensurate with experience

Job Requirements

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Master's degree in Gerontology, Social Work, Parks & Recreation, Public Administration, or a related field and at least 4 years directly related work experience including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a government setting.

Special Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with a variety of senior adult services and compliance with regulatory requirements; including grant requirements. 
  • Experience working or familiarity with programs and services provided by Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services or similar state organizations, Older Americans Act, and Area Agencies on Aging. 
  • Membership or familiarity of the Virginia Recreation and Park Society, National Recreation, and Park Association are beneficial to the position.
