Loudoun County's Department of Information Technology is currently seeking a Public Safety Systems Administrator. Job Description: The Public Safety System Administrator position is part of a team that is responsible for end user and system support of Public Safety infrastructure and applications on a 24X7 basis. This position provides system administration, project management, implementation, end user documentation, and oversight to the applications and systems supporting the Public Safety end users. The user base includes Fire/Rescue, Sheriff’s Office, Emergency Communications Center, Adult Detention Center, Purcellville and Middleburg PD, Office of Emergency Management, the Courts, Animal Services, and Commonwealth Attorneys.
This position will lead tasks and projects such as troubleshooting outages, deploying software to systems and user devices, and providing technical systems administrative support. This position will also assist with the installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of system hardware and software. This position will lead projects including upgrades, installations, and migration of systems for the Public Safety agencies. This position will coordinate the change activities of other teams within Information Technology and Public Safety that may impact Public Safety communication systems. (Network, Security, Servers, software updates). As such, it requires leadership capabilities to communicate and challenge all parts of the organization, including Public Safety leaders, directors, and end users to improve operational excellence.
The infrastructure supported includes 9-1-1 positions, 50+ applications, VPNs, mobility platform, Mobile Data Terminals, Command center vehicles, and other assets. Through the management of projects along with other technology advancements will increase service delivery requirements for the Public Safety Communications and Engineering Support Activity. Advancements in technology such as the availability of Geolocation of callers and responders, situational awareness applications, and interoperability between LMR and Mobile networks will increase the number of applications to Public Safety users and the resulting support required.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information technology, network, or IT systems administration; four (4) years' of relevant experience, preferably in a government setting, in systems administration and project management; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Prefer certification in MCSA Windows Server 2016-2019. CompTIA IT Fundamentals NetMotion Administrator.
This position will be required to be on-call every third week.
The successful candidate will undergo a CJIS/Fingerprint background and DMV check.
