Loudoun County’s Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure (DTCI) is seeking a talented, highly motivated construction professional to serve as a Construction Manager. This position will independently manage complex transportation and road projects during the construction, post construction, and Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) acceptance phases to ensure the work is executed in accordance with approved plans and specifications, VDOT standards, and the project budget and schedule. The Construction Manager may also manage capital facility projects, should the workload dictate the need. Additional responsibilities will include supporting the design process by providing constructability reviews and feedback during the design process, develop professional services contract tasking and scopes of work, proactively manage the construction phase of the work, and serve as a senior technical resource for complex design and construction management issues. The Construction Manager is a salaried position and subjected to a 37.5-hour work week. Work outside normal business hours may be required from time to time for public meetings or as required for a project. Construction Managers receive annual, sick, and personal leave in accordance with Loudoun County policy. This position is eligible for telework in accordance with County and DTCI Telework Policies. Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Project Management, or a related field; four (4) years of related work experience of a complex nature including construction administration experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to inspect existing sites and active construction projects, which often requires walking or climbing elevated structures. This position requires walking or crawling through tight spaces; climbing into manhole structures or other confined spaces; climbing towers or other elevated structures; walking or crawling through excavated or tunneled spaces; and being exposed to inclement weather and hazardous conditions associated with construction sites and activities. Work is performed dealing with activities that require making decisions involving people, resources, and property. Subject to call twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, on limited occurrences to address project needs.
